What's the Branded TapMango Application?
The Branded TapMango application is listed under your business name, and your logo is the icon. It is an extra layer of branding for your rewards program.
Why do I need my own Apple Developer account?
TapMango provides the app itself at no extra development charge. Apple requires you, as the business owner, to create your own Apple Developer account and enroll in the Apple Developer program so your app can be hosted.
Apple's App Review Guidelines, section 4.2.6, cover this requirement.
What About Android?
Google does not have the same account restriction as Apple. TapMango submits your Android application under the TapMango developer account.
Does this Cost Anything?
TapMango
The mobile app is an additional paid feature. Contact Support to discuss pricing and to add it to your account.
Apple
Apple charges $99 USD per year for an Apple Developer account. That fee is paid to Apple. TapMango does not add a fee to develop and submit the app.
Android
Google does not charge a separate fee for the application.
My Business Sells Vape/E-Cigarette items, is this a problem?
TapMango will not submit a branded app for a vape, CBD, THC, or other high-risk business. Do not enroll in the Apple Developer program expecting a branded app for these products.
Why Do I need to Provide Admin Access for my Apple Account?
TapMango submits the application to your Apple account. Apple requires admin permissions for that work. Without admin access, TapMango cannot submit the application for approval.
How Long Does It Take to get my App?
Apple
After TapMango is invited to your development team, the application can be submitted for review.
Apple applications are submitted weekly on Fridays. After submission, Apple approval usually takes 1-3 business days.
Android
Android applications are faster. The team needs about a week to prepare the app. After submission, it is typically available on Google Play within a few hours.
Unless you ask otherwise, the Android application is submitted at the same time as the Apple application.
Will I be notified about my app being available?
Apple
Because you create the Apple account, Apple sends status emails to the address on that account. Your Feature Implementation Specialist will also try to reach out.
Android
Your Feature Implementation Specialist notifies you when the Android application has been submitted and is available.
My Apple App was rejected!
Apple sometimes rejects applications. For a rewards app, this is often a misunderstanding on Apple's side. The TapMango team replies with an explanation.
My Apple App was rejected for violating 4.2.6
This can still happen on your own Apple account. App Review Guidelines, section 4.2.6 is the rule Apple cites. It may happen when the business name on the Apple account is different from the business name on your TapMango account. Apple then requires proof of business ownership.
Example
Your store is named Coffee Plus. That is the name on the sign, and it is the name TapMango uses, so the app name is Coffee Plus Rewards.
The registered business entity is 123 Trading Company LLC.
Apple may ask for proof that 123 Trading Company LLC owns and operates Coffee Plus.
