Set up a punch card, also called a Frequent Purchase Program, so TapMango tracks repeat purchases of the same product and rewards the customer at the goal.
Create the Product in TapMango
Create the product in Smart Products. What are Smart Products? covers that page. TapMango tracks qualifying purchases automatically, with no physical punch cards or pen-and-paper tracking.
Step 1: Create a New Product
- Category - optional. Group this product with others if you want.
- Product Name - the name of the product to track.
- Points (optional) - leave blank for punch card campaigns.
- Max Purchases per Session - leave blank for punch card campaigns.
- Active - check this box to activate the product.
Each POS integration uses unique IDs for product mapping. Review the product mapping guides to link products for your integration.
Create the Voucher
Create a voucher to reward customers once TapMango can track their purchases. This voucher is assigned automatically when a customer meets the purchase goal set in the punch card campaign.
If you prefer to assign points instead of a voucher, skip this section. The points option is covered when you add the reward action.
Step 1: Create a New Loyalty Voucher
- Description - the name of the product the customer receives, for example Free Coffee.
- Voucher # Prefix - internal nickname to tell this voucher apart from others, for example PCCOFFEE.
- Effective On - today's date.
- Expires On - leave blank. Expiration is set at the campaign level, on the reward action.
- Barcode Number (optional) - leave blank.
- Restrict to Location(s) - where the voucher can be redeemed. Leave unrestricted unless the voucher is only redeemable at certain locations.
- Restrict to Channel(s) - where the voucher can be redeemed, such as in-store or online. Leave unrestricted unless you want to limit redemption to a specific channel.
Create the Campaign
Create a campaign that tracks product purchases and rewards customers when they hit the goal.
Step 1: Create a Campaign Folder
Step 2: Create the Punch Card Trigger
- Targeting - which locations and/or customer groups the punch card applies to. Leave unchanged if all locations and groups are eligible.
- Product - select the Smart Product you created.
- # of Purchases - how many purchases are needed to earn the reward.
- Punch Card Title Name - the title shown on the punch card tile in your mobile app and on the tablet when a customer checks in.
Step 3: Add the Reward Action
- Assign Voucher - select Assign Voucher from the Action Type dropdown. Set Voucher to the voucher you created. For Valid From, choose Right Away, Specify # of Days, or Specify Exact Date. For Expires, choose Never, Specify # of Days, or Specify Exact Date.
- Assign Points - select Assign Points from the Action Type dropdown. Enter the number of points to award when the customer hits the purchase goal. Use this when your program is points-based and you want points instead of a separate voucher.
You can add more actions to send an SMS, email, or push notification when customers earn a reward.
Step 4: Activate the Campaign
Click the 3-dot icon on the right side of the campaign trigger and action, then select Activate.
Once setup is complete, review the tutorial that shows cashiers how to log a product purchase on the TapMango tablet.
