Issue electronic coupons that customers receive as signup bonuses, birthday offers, win-back offers, or other campaigns.
Vouchers Are Different Than Rewards
Unlike rewards that cost points, vouchers are electronic coupons issued to customers. You decide how a customer receives a voucher. Common defaults:
- As a sign up bonus
- On a customer's birthday
- For a we miss you campaign
Vouchers are created under the vouchers section. How To Create a Voucher covers that.
Types of Vouchers
There are three voucher types: Loyalty, Marketing, and Promo Code. The campaign you want to run determines which type to use.
Loyalty
Loyalty vouchers are assigned to customer accounts through campaigns, quick campaigns, or manually.
After you create a Loyalty voucher, customers do not see it for redemption until it is assigned to their account and the date is inside the voucher's validity period. A Loyalty voucher may be redeemed only once unless multiple vouchers are assigned. Loyalty vouchers can be assigned only to existing loyalty accounts.
- Assign a voucher through a campaign. This is the most common method. You set the goal a customer must complete, and the campaign assigns the voucher automatically. How to Send a Quick Campaign covers sending one.
- Win a voucher through Instant Win. When a customer checks in on the TapMango tablet, they can win a prize. You choose the voucher and set the odds. How do I create a prize (Instant Win) that a customer can get when checking in? covers the prize.
- Purchasing vouchers. Customers can pre-purchase products or services and receive vouchers for later redemption:
- A pre-purchase campaign: the customer buys a product and is assigned multiple vouchers. Create a Multi-Pack Purchase System: Buy 10 Massages now, to use later covers that.
- A gift card: branded key chain tags can be loaded with wallet dollars, points, and vouchers, so a customer can buy a gift card that includes a product voucher. Gift Cards - Create Via Portal covers creating the card.
- An Instant Deal: the customer can purchase a voucher online from a phone or computer, so you receive payment before the in-store pickup. Instant Deals covers that.
Marketing
Marketing vouchers are the closest type to rewards, and they are not assigned to a customer account before use.
Unlike Loyalty vouchers, Marketing vouchers can be available immediately, depending on the validity period and group restrictions you set. Marketing vouchers can allow multiple redemptions within the validity period.
- Create a discount for everyone, including new customers. A Marketing voucher that is valid today, with no group restriction, can be redeemed by any customer who signed up today.
- Allow multiple redemptions per customer. Set the number of redemptions per customer.
- Run a multi-day, multi-discount sale. Create a different Marketing voucher for each day, including an advent-calendar style promotion. For an anniversary weekend or grand opening, create one Marketing voucher for each daily discount. How to Create a Multiday Promo or Advent Calendar covers that.
Promo Code
A Promo Code voucher requires the customer to enter a code at mobile or web ordering checkout. What Are Promo Codes? explains the type. How to Create a Promo Code and How To Use Promo Codes cover setup and use.
