Upload exported sales from a point of sale TapMango does not connect to directly, and those sales are applied to customer accounts.
What is Generic POS?
Generic POS is what TapMango calls taking exported sales data from a point of sale system that does not have a direct integration. This is also known as flat file integration.
Flat file upload
Once the integration has been set up, you can upload a spreadsheet file in the TapMango portal. The sales are processed and applied to customer accounts as if they came straight from the POS.
Customer data
The Generic POS integration will not work without customer data in the POS. TapMango needs to know who a sale belongs to. Without that information, sales cannot be processed accurately.

Processing sales
Once the integration is set up, processing sales is as simple as uploading a file.
Testing
Before the integration goes live, we need a test transaction to confirm everything works.
Upload a small file with a limited number of sample sales so the test runs quickly. The system cannot choose a small batch of sales from the file and will process all sales.
Uploading a file
Validating the sale
Once the sales are processed, they show up in TapMango customer history. Click a customer from the list of transactions, or go to Customers → Customer List and select the customer there.
Duplicate sales data
If the same sales are uploaded again, TapMango ignores them and treats them as duplicate sales. TapMango only saves raw sales data for 30 days, and that is how long a duplicate check lasts. Sales that were uploaded more than a month ago are processed as new sales if they are uploaded again.
Rewards and vouchers
Generic POS does not support reward redeeming. Redeem rewards manually in TapMango.
Automatic external ID and tablet barcode
Generic POS can automatically create an external ID for a customer who signs up in TapMango, and display a linear barcode of that number on the tablet's cashier side.
Cashiers use that barcode to create a new customer profile, or to open the customer in the POS. After a new customer signs up or signs in, the cashier can flip the tablet to the admin screen and scan the barcode.
