If you are transferring ownership and the new owners will keep using TapMango, follow these steps to complete the handoff.
Notify TapMango in advance
Before the business is handed off, the original owner must contact their account manager or TapMango Support.
We will need:
- The new owner's name, email, and phone number
- The official transfer date
Create a new administrative user
If the credentials for the existing admin Portal user will not be passed on to the new owner, a new user must be created.
An account manager or TapMango Support can create that user, but they need approval from the original owner first. The original owner can call or email with the new owner's information, or create a new user in Portal → Settings → Users and then request that the user role be changed to Merchant Admin. See How do I edit or add additional Users?.
Who keeps the customers
The customer database stays with the account. Point balances, groups, campaigns, and program settings stay as they are.
Re-sign the existing agreement
The new owner will re-sign the existing agreement. The terms and length do not change, and the contract terms are still binding.
TapMango Support will provide the agreement link. A request for a different plan or rate is separate from the transfer.
Update billing
Update the payment method for the new owner before their first invoice is charged. Otherwise the service may be disabled.
The new owner can call TapMango Support to update the payment method, or update a credit card from Account → Payment Profiles. See How to update Credit Card/Payment online.
